Every year from November 25 to December 10 is the 16 Days international campaign aimed at raising awareness and calling for the end of violence against women and girls. It starts on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and concludes on International Human Rights Day, linking gender-based violence to human rights. The campaign encourages collective action through public events, advocacy, and supporting organizations that work to prevent violence, challenge harmful social norms, and support survivors.
ACWW marks the end of the 16 Days of Global Activism, and Human Rights Day, with an online event focused on establishing pathways to action in local communities, raising concerns, and ending violence against women and girls in Africal
Members from ACWW's East, West, and Central Africa Area and Southern Africa Area are invited to join us, and we are pleased to also extend the invitation to all women and women's organisations in Africa.
Speakers include representatives from across the region, and the event will be hosted by ACWW Deputy World President Judith Juma. A full list of speakers will be published shortly.
