Join us in Ottawa for the 31st Triennial World Conference in 2026!

ACWW is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 Triennial World Conference. The conference will be hosted in Ottawa, Canada, and on this page you will find all the information you need to register, attend, and participate fully.

Please carefully read the Frequently Asked Questions section below, as well as the different information sections before registering. The registration form is at the bottom of this page.

Information for attending the Conference

Registration for the 31st Triennial World Conference includes the conference package (covering the meeting rooms and all the activities), accomodation  at the Westin Ottawa hotel, and your meals and refreshments during the Conference.

We are very aware of the cost of international travel and the challenges members face, particularly at this time, and have done everything possible to keep the cost of the conference to a minimum. This conference conference package is offered at two different rates, depending on whether you want a single occupancy room (just you), or a twin room (two separate beds). We are only offering registration as part of a package, it is not possible to attend without accomodation onsite.

The twin rate is a great way of saving money and means you can share with a friend, but also means as part of the registration process you will need to specify who you are sharing with.

It is very important to highlight that we recommend all attendees have comprehensive travel insurance, as ACWW cannot be held accountable for any costs incurred if you are unable to travel, and the registration is, as normal, non-refundable.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Ottawa and celebrating all that has been accomplished over the past three years, and as we head towards our Cetenary in 2029!

Visas to enter Canada

When planning your attendance at the Triennial World Conference, it is important to check whether you need a Visa or eTA to enter Canada. If you are from a country which requires a Visa, you are advised to apply for this as soon as possible, as there can be a significant wait for appointments and processing.

ACWW is unable to influence the visa process, but the Triennial World Conference is registered with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) who are responsible for visas and eTAs. Please read the following carefully, watch the helpful video from IRCC, and consider what you need to do next:

Travel & Entry to Canada Made Easier

Canada continues to improve immigration programs and services, making them more efficient and accessible. Travellers from 53 visa-exempt countries can apply online for an eTA, with most approvals issued within minutes.

Data Sharing

As part of the registration process, ACWW may be required to share information with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).  Information collected is used to identify and coordinate the processing of visa applications and, upon request, provide organizers updates of aggregate data on the status of visa applications of event participants, within the confines of the Privacy Act (Canada) and at the discretion of the IRCC Special Events Unit.

If you are living in a country which requires a visa to enter Canada, you will automatically be sent a Visa Support Letter by ACWW when we confirm your registration. This letter will include a specific code which you will need to fill in on your visa application. Once you have applied for your visa, it is CRUCIAL that you contact ACWW and give us the following information so that we can update IRCC in support of your application:

  • Full name (as in passport)
  • Passport country of issuance
  • Visa Application number

Please watch this video which explains the visa process for entering Canada:

Mid-Conference Tours

On 29 April 2026, we will combine activities across Ottawa and the surrounding region with ACWW's traditional "Women Walk the World".

When you complete your registration form, you will be asked to select your order of preference for the options for the Mid-Conference Tours. Each option has a set number of places, so these will be allocated on a first come, first-served basis.

Visit a working farm located within Ottawa's urban city! The museum highlights Canada's agricultural heritage, food literacy, and the relationship between agricultural science and technology. You can also meet farm animals, from ducklings to cows. The new Learning Centre, heritage barns and outdoor spaces provide opportunities to learn and relax in a casual, fresh air setting.  Through immersive exhibitions, food demonstrations, and memorable animal interactions, explore how agricultural science and technology is shaping Canadians’ everyday lives.

After visiting the Museum, this tour will continue to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride Stables. A symbol of tradition, honour, and pride, the Musical Ride is a  Canadian icon recognized at home and abroad. The Musical Ride supports  front-line police operations by building positive relationships,  supporting recruiting efforts and promoting the RCMP's image in communities in Canada and around the world. The troop of up to 32 riders, who are all police officers, and their  horses perform intricate formations and drills set to music. Meet the riders (and the horses) of the Musical Ride during your tour.

Started in 2012, the Just Food Community Farm is where people and  projects come together to model and inspire small-scale, viable  agriculture businesses and initiatives in the Ottawa region. Located on a  150-acre farmstead in the Ottawa Greenbelt on the west side of  Blackburn Hamlet, the Just Food Farm is ideally situated on the #25 bus  route and bike paths, with a unique network of pathways that make  exploring the varied activities a pleasure. It is between a residential  area and the ecologically protected Green’s Creek, allowing us to  demonstrate that agriculture can flourish in this context.

This tour includes a sightseeing tour of Ottawa and Gatineau, providing an oppportunity for an information, relaxing, and entertaining way to visit all of the most interesting sites in the National Capital region. Live guides will introduce you to Ottawa's historic scenery from every possible angle.

The seat of Canada's federal government and the setting for national celebrations the year round, Parliament Hill is the most visited Ottawa attraction. This will be an immersive tour and a great opportunity to visit the home of Canada's democracy.

The ByWard Market District is Ottawa’s unique heritage destination for  cuisine, shopping, arts, entertainment, and professional services for  residents and visitors alike - making it the number one tourist  attraction in the National Capital Region. The area is home to a  year-round public market packed with artisans and culinary delights. Between May and October, the market's vibrancy spills out onto the  streets. Small business owners gather outside the Market Hall, turning  the area into a bustling outdoor market metropolis. Music and art can be  seen and heard throughout the area, delighting the senses of all who  experience it.

Visiting this family farm dating back to the 1850s will give you the opportunity to taste delicious wine and cheese whilst unwinding in an unspoiled rural setting in St Pascal Baylon, Ontario.  This is a fifth-generation family farm in the bilingual rural heartland of Eastern Ontario, owned and operated by Michel Villeneuve and his wife Carrie McKay. The 40-acre farm produces a wide range of trees (including Christmas Trees)  and soft fruits - pears, blueberries, apples, grapes, raspberries and cherries, much of which is made into wine.

The land for the farm was originally cleared  by Michel’s great-grandfather Jules in 1857, and Michel and his wife  still live in the original farm dwelling that has been expanded  considerably over the years. However, Michel started as a commercial  fruit farmer in 1998 after purchasing the farm from his grandfather Léo.  He expanded it into fruit wine production after he retired as the  computer systems director at Transport Canada in 2016. Carrie, a retired  teacher, helps on the farm in the background.

Michel  says that his mentor, and key inspiration as a winemaker, has been  Carmen Bender, the former owner of the Strathmore Orchard and Winery in  Monkland, whose wine-making business Michel eventually purchased. Thanks  to its deep roots in the area, the Villeneuve farm is integrated into  the local community. Young people earn good money as fruit pickers  during the season or families spend the day on-site picking their  fruit.

Discover how maple syrup is made, try tasty gourmet treats and shop maple spa products at this traditional sugarshack within Ottawa's countryside. Located an hour’s drive west of downtown Ottawa in Pakenham, Ontario, Fulton's Sugar Bush and Maple Shop is a multi-generational, 400-acre farm that has been producing maple syrup since 1840. The Maple Gift Shoppe is stocked with savoury and sweet treats, as well as Fulton’s Maple Luscious Bath & Body Care line of products.

Companion Tours

During the conference, many attendees are accompanied by spouses, partners, family members or friends. We use the term "Companion Tours" to cover activities for all these guest attendees.

It is common for these guest attendees to participate in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, mid-conference tour, ACWW Celebration, and Gala Dinner. We are therefore offering two part-days of activities as part of the programme whilst other Conference Attendees will be in Conference Sessions:
